Beer Review: Dogfish Head Immort Ale

As expected from Dogfish Head, Immort Ale is a style all its own. Maple syrup, smoked barley, juniper, and vanilla are all added to the brew before it’s aged in oak barrels. Nice dark brown color here, even without much head. The aroma is very strong with cooked sugar, raisins, and a lot of alcohol. [...] Related posts:

Hello Beer Friends Nation! Everyone seems to be caught up with #MarchMadness so this week we tried a beer with some maddening labels (created by Ralph Steadman)… Flying Dog!  Flying Dog started in Colorado and moved to Maryland (which breaks my heart) but now their stuff is a lot more available (you win some and [...] [...]

Beer Review: Elysian Brewing Fallout Green Cardamom Pale (12 Beer Apoco-Series #3)

I am determined to try each and every one of these beers in the “12 Beers of the Apocalypse” Series. So far I have thoroughly enjoyed each. Cardamom 7.3% ABV is pretty steep for a Pale isn’t it? Let’s see if it tastes like a pale.. using a glass I… [...]

Beer Review: Elysian Brewing ‘Rapture’ Heather Ale (Apocalypse Series)

“February 21 will usher in RAPTURE, an ale of opulent proportions flavored with heather tips. Unlike the various Rapture events predicted by pseudoscientists and alarmist evangelicals, the beer will be very real and frankly delicious, combining the fl… [...]

Beer Review: Biere d’Abbaye Lacu

An Italian take on a classic Belgian style, the first thing you will notice about Lacu is its frothy, creamy, and unyielding head. This hazy golden ale’s aroma is full of lemon, orange, and yeast. Sweet grapes, grassy malt, and a mix of lemon and orange. Hops provide just a touch of bitterness. The 6.3% [...] Related posts:
