Loads of hop notes burst out of this Italian pale ale. [...]
I made another trip out to Albuquerque New Mexico not only to visit family, but to try and find some beers I can not get back East. One of the beers I picked up comes from Epic Brewing Company in New Zealand. Their Armageddon, an American IPA, can hopefully live up to bold giant red [...] [...]
I’ve finally managed to finish the last of my brother’s Hanukkah beer gift, the He’Brew Bittersweet Lenny’s R.I.P.A, a really strong rye ipa. I’ll admit, I should have drank this one earlier but I just never got around to it. At least I drank one of th… [...]

On April Fools Day earlier this monthI got thinking about trickster beer styles — and one that’s probably among the trickiest — and least understood — is the English Bitter. Mostly because it’s not bitter at a… [...]
You know what I really love about one of my favorite local shops? They continually get these tasty brews from small craft breweries out of Quebec. I’m not sure how they manage to do it, but they do. One of those small companies is Brasserie Dieu du Ciel. I’ve had their Rosée D’hibiscus and Corne [...] [...]
Odell Brewing will release St. Lupulin Extra Pale Ale again on April 21st, 2012. St. Lupulin (loop-you-lin) is a pale ale that pays tribute to a mystical character who passionately tended to rows and rows of hops caring for the coveted yellow resin within the hop cones known as Lupulin.
St. Lupulin is a dry-hopped extra pale ale with a clean and crisp finish. The selected hops, including Cascade and Centennial varieties, create a bright citrus and floral aroma and flavor. The brew boasts a golden straw like hue and an 6.5% ABV.
A tap party is planned for Saturday, … Read the rest

I know duo hopped beers have been around for a long time, often masked by their name. Who could tell that ‘Wayfarer’ for example, is a beer made with amarillo and cascade ? There is no clue in the name, or on the pump clip. Nevertheless it is an e… [...]

New from Spoetzel Brewery in Shiner, TX, Shiner Wild Hare Pale Ale is Spoetzel’s first foray into the world of ales. Interestingly, there is a hint of banana off the head when first poured vigorously into the glass. The brew is deep gold to copper in color with some pink highlights. The huge, lacey head [...] [...]
